Aloha From Roughing It!

Counselor and campers celebrating Hawaiian dress up day, hula dancing.

This week at Roughing It is our last week of session one, and was camp spirit and community week. Campers focused on team building, communication, making friendship ties and keeping them, saying farewells, and closure. On Wednesday, we celebrated Hawaiian Day, one of our many dress up days at camp. Campers dressed in their best Hawaiian gear, and participated in limbo and hula dancing contests at closing circle!

On Thursday, we began wrapping up the session with parents closing circle. Thanks to all of our parents, family members and friends that were able to come out to join us. Camper groups prepared songs and skits to share with all of their loved ones, and it sure was a blast to watch! We hope you all had as much fun as we did!

Today was our final closing circle, where all of the staff shared a farewell song with the campers and said their goodbyes until next summer.  We have had so much fun this week, and if you’d like to relive these great memories, visit us on Camper Caboodle where you can see videos of camper skits and the staff song. Don’t forget to check back in next Friday to see what the new session has in store for our campers!
