Extended Care Hours
Extended Care Hours are limited to Before Camp from: 8:00-8:40am and After Camp: 3:10-4:00pm. Parents will need to park and accompany their campers to/from the camp check in station daily. We are unable to accommodate campers arriving or leaving outside of the scheduled drop-off (8:00-8:40am) and pick up times (3:10-4:00pm). We open promptly at 8:00am and close at exactly 4:00pm.
Pick Up and Drop Off at Camp
There is no bus transportation offered for Extended Care. Parents using Extended Care are required to drop off and pick up daily at the Lafayette Reservoir between 8:00-8:40am and 3:10-4:00pm. Transportation cannot be combined with morning or afternoon bus service. We ask parents to be timely and only come during the designated time to avoid overlap with the large buses which can be dangerous for parents and children walking through the parking lot. Families unable to meet the designated times will not be eligible for Extended Care and are encouraged to use the bus transportation.
How to Register
Register for extended care at the time you enroll your camper in camp. On the application, when prompted, select Extended Care for the Transportation option. This will enroll your camper in Extended Care for the duration of their session. You will not be able to select a bus stop as no transportation is offered with extended care. There is no fee for Extended Care however space is limited.
2021 Extended Care FAQ
For morning Breakfast Club, campers are dropped off by their parents at our Breakfast Club program in central Lafayette. A bus will shuttle them to the camp site before camp starts. For afternoon extended care, we service most of the same areas, but bus stops are more limited compared to normal bus service because this is a much smaller program. We do not provide home drop off service for extended care.
Most campers do just fine when they add extended care to their day. There is downtime at the beginning of the program, where campers have a small snack and rest period. Saddle Club, Swim Club, and Twilight Fishing are activity based, while Reservoir Club is an open program where campers can do crafts, sports, or have quiet time with a book. Parents can switch extended-care activities, or cancel extended-care, if they wish to lessen the activity for their camper at this time of day.
