Staff Adventures Abroad: Courtney and Pete

As it gets closer to the winter break season we’re excited to see some of our summer staff members stopping by to say hello while they are away from school. Even when they’re not in town we love hearing how life outside of camp is going. Many of our staff are able to travel during their school year. They always come back with great stories and new ideas to bring to camp.

Courtney, Swim Director – As a recent graduate from CSU Chico we were so happy to have Courtney back for another great summer at Roughing It. Courtney received a bachelor’s degree in education and has always enjoyed working with kids. This fall she got to embark on an exciting adventure to Germany! She will be spending four month abroad tutoring and teaching students in Ansbach, Germany. Courtney is excited to apply what she has learned at previous years of camp into this new and exciting environment and hopes to tour many countries during her time abroad.

This year the Cal Poly rugby team had the privilege of participating in the European Tour. Pete and his team were able to play several European rugby teams in Ireland, France, and Italy. They played one game in each country and ended up with a winning record of 2-1! In addition to playing in several international tournaments the team was also able to soak up some of the culture. They saw some famous landmarks and works of art such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Mona Lisa. To see more about our Summer 2013 staff check our Staff Bios!
