For our 4 and 8-week Day Camp program, we offer pickup right to your doorstep in select areas. For all program besides Hello Horse Camp, we offer central pickup service in 23 locations in San Francisco, the Berkeley/Oakland area, Alameda, Lamorinda, and the 680 corridor from Pleasant Hill to San Ramon. For our half-day Hello Horse program, we provided a shuttle to the site from Lafayette. Choose a program on the right to learn more about bus service for each program.

Professional Drivers for Safety

Roughing It contracts with First Student Educational Services to provide buses and professionally trained drivers for ALL transportation to and from camp. Transportation at Roughing It is provided at no extra charge

They have year round experience driving large vehicles and, equally important, know how to safely handle emergency situations. Buses - The Safest Form of Transportation!

Roughing It leases 24-passenger buses, all equipped with seatbelts. Buses are maintained and operated by First Student Educational Services. Drivers and buses are certified and inspected annually by the California Highway Patrol, Department of Motor Vehicles, and Public Utilities Commission. Learn more about Bus Safety.

Bus Captains & Additional Supervision

All school buses have a Roughing It adult counselor assigned as a Bus Captain to provide additional camper supervision and to carry out our traditional bus spirit activities for the campers during the ride to and from camp.
