Abby Post
Unit 2 Leader, 7th Year Staff Member
Skidmore College — Health and Human Physiology Degree & University of Oregon- Grad School
Abby is returning this year as a part-time Unit Leader. Abby was the Unit leader last summer. This will be Abby’s 17th year at camp! She began her career at Roughing It as a First Grade (G1) camper and went on to become a CILT and Jr Counselor. Abby graduated from Skidmore College, and will be attending Oregon State for graduate school to be a physical therapist. Abby is a welcoming hand to new staff and assists all the group counselors in organizing activities, teaching staff the RI way, helping campers try new things and grow, and especially to help make camp fun!

Marina Bahamonde-Partlan
CILT Group Counselor, 2nd Year Staff Member
CSU Northridge-Business Admin & Marketing
Marina is returning for her second summer at Roughing It! After being a Waterfront Counselor last year she will step into the CILT Counselor role. Marina is attending CSU Northridge and majoring in Business Administration & Marketing. She is from San Francisco with years of experience with Sea Scouts. Marina has been rowing, sailing, kayaking, and powerboating since she was 15 and taken part in technical rowing competitions. Marina is excited to share her knowledge and love for the outdoors with campers this summer!

Owen Fitzmaurice
B56 Group Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
University of Calgary – Computer Science & Business majors
Owen is joining Roughing It for his first summer as a Counselor! He’s a student at the University of Calgary, pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science and Business. Originally from Alberta, Owen has a love for the outdoors and a variety of sports. A multi-sport athlete and experienced youth coach, he’s led football camps and coached kids from kindergarten through 8th grade. Owen brings leadership, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with kids, and he’s excited to make this summer unforgettable!

Luke Morrison
B56 Assistant Counselor, 2nd Year Staff Member
San Diego State – Finance
Luke is returning for his second summer at Roughing It. He currently attends San Diego State University and is pursuing a career in Finance. Luke has been a cub and boy scout, allowing him to experience various outdoor trips. Luke worked as a camp counselor at a soccer camp the year prior. Luke is excited to create a great experience for campers this summer!

Diksha 'Tara' Natesan
G56 Group Counselor, 2nd Year Staff Member
Bryn Mawr College – Computer Science
This is Tara’s second summer at Roughing It. She was our Sports counselor last summer and is now taking on the role of G56 counselor. Tara has played a variety of sports growing up, now she is playing Field Hockey as a student athlete at Bryn Mawr College and is studying Computer Science. She has volunteered at an outdoor camp and enjoys rock climbing and hiking in her free time. Tara is excited to share the outdoors and create new memories as a Group Counselor this summer!

Ruby Kambeitz
G56 Assistant Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
University of Arizona – Economics
Ruby is joining Roughing It for her first summer as an Assistant Counselor! She’s an Economics major at the University of Arizona and brings strong leadership skills and years of experience working with children. Ruby is passionate about helping others learn and grow, with a talent for guiding activities and resolving conflicts. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, singing, drawing, and playing guitar. Ruby is excited to bring her energy and enthusiasm to camp this summer!

Jack Walker
JHB Group Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
UC Davis- Environmental Policy Degree
Jack is joining Roughing It for his first summer as a Group Counselor! He recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Environmental Policy and is excited to return to his hometown of Lamorinda. Jack loves the outdoors, especially camping and sports, and has experience coaching and working with youth. He’s passionate about creating a positive, supportive camp environment and is always ready to play, hike, or help campers feel included and engaged.

Jonas Hagan
JHB Assistant Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
Marist University- Communications
Jonas is joining Roughing It for his first summer as an Assistant Counselor! Originally from Oakland, he’s now a Communications major at Marist University in New York. Jonas grew up loving the outdoors and is also passionate about sports. With previous camp counselor experience and working with kids, he’s excited to bring his energy and love for the outdoors to camp this summer!

Emma Hunt
JHG Group Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
Cal Poly SLO- Political Science
Emma is here for her second summer at Roughing It but is a second generation Roughing It counselor! Emma attends Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, where she studies Political Science. She is a member of both the debate team and the club swim team for Cal Poly and is excited to bring the skills she has gained from these to the reservoir. She is a Lafayette native and has strong camp experience, and we are thrilled to have her back this summer.

Colleen Van Note
JHG Assistant Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
Boise State University- Environmental Studies
Colleen is joining Roughing It for her first summer as an Assistant Counselor! She’s an Environmental Studies major at Boise State University and a Division 1 collegiate rugby player. With experience leading multi-day backpacking trips at Girl Scout camp and a lifelong passion for sports, Colleen loves working with kids and being part of a team. She’s excited to inspire curiosity, confidence, and fun through outdoor adventures and camp activities this summer!
