Meet Our Outdoor Explorers Counselors and Staff
Ryan Karow
Outdoor Explorers Director / 1st Year Staff Member
University of Colorado, Boulder – Environmental Design major
Ryan K. is passionate about outdoor adventures from climbing and skiing to mountain biking! He hopes to bring these skills and his experience with playing soccer and lacrosse to the Outdoor Explorers this summer! He has fond memories of being at summer camp and wants to make this summer a fun, safe, positive experience for all of his campers. When not at camp he is an Environmental Design major at the University of Colorado Boulder. Welcome aboard, Ryan!
Rio Nickerson
Outdoor Explorers Group Counselor / 1st Year Staff Member
Cal State East Bay – Music Education Major
Rio is a long-time Roughing It camper with over 10 summers with us at the Reservoir! He is looking forward to helping his campers make lasting memories this summer! Rio will be attending Cal State East Bay in the fall to pursue a degree in Music Education. We are delighted to have him join us in leading the Outdoor Explorers this summer.
Blanca Juras
Outdoor Explorers Assistant Counselor / 1st Year STaff Member
Graduate of San Francisco Waldorf School
Blanca is a previous Roughing It Camper who is very excited to join our staff this summer! She has extensive experience as a Nanny in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Her goal is to get to know each child as a unique individual! Blanca is looking forward to helping each camper learn new skills and make lasting memories during their time at Outdoor Explorers.
Ivan Dikov
Outdoor Explorers Fishing Counselor / 1st Year Staff Member
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Economics major
We are proud to welcome Ivan to our Outdoor Explorers staff this year! He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and no wonder! He has a passion for being in the great outdoors. In particular, he loves hiking, camping, and backpacking, and is excited to bring his outdoor knowledge and leadership skills to our OE campers this summer.
Cameron "Cam" Capie
Outdoor Explorers Assistant Counselor / 1st Year Staff Member
Gonzaga University / Nursing major
Cameron is a lifelong tennis player and current wrestler. He has volunteered over 500 hours at hospitals and is passionate about helping others through nursing. Cameron recently obtained his CNA license and is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing at Gonzaga University. He loves working with people and hopes to make camp fun and educational for all his campers. Welcome aboard, Cameron!
