Group Counselor Summer Camp Jobs

Spend the summer outdoors! Be a camp counselor! Most group counselors are college aged and have completed at least their first year of college.

Day Camp Group Counselors

Group Counselors should have previous experience working with children, and must be effective leaders and role models. Group counselors spend the day with a group of 15 campers, and are responsible for planning activities as well as supervising campers. Group Counselors are also required to accompany and supervise campers on daily bus routes to and from camp and camp activity areas!

Prerequisites:

  • Completed second year of college (by start of camp)
  • Youth leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications
  • Ability to swim

47 hrs/week, starting at $590/week

Horse Day Camp Counselors

Horse Day Camp (HDC) Counselors should have previous experience working with children and must be successful leaders and positive role models. It is important that these counselors have a strong horseback riding background, and are comfortable enough with their own riding abilities, to be able to effectively teach campers basic, as well as more advanced riding skills and techniques. HDC counselors spend their entire day with a group of 15 HDC campers, and are responsible for planning riding lessons, horsemanship activities, vaulting activities and lessons, as well as other challenging horse related activities. HDC counselors are responsible for supervising a group of campers, and will be asked to accompany and supervise campers on bus routes for our day camp and camp plus programs as needed.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 19
  • Completed first year of college (by start of summer)
  • Horseback riding experience
  • Youth leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain ARC First Aid and CPR Certifications
  • CHA or HSA Certification recommended

Outdoor Explorer Group Counselors

Outdoor Explorer (OE) Group Counselors should have previous experience working with children and must be successful leaders and positive role models. OE Group Counselors spend the day with a group of 15 campers, supervising campers at all times. OE Counselors will also teach lessons specializing in one of the following areas: outdoor living, nature exploration, rowing, or crafts. OE Group Counselors will accompany and supervise campers on bus routes for our day camp and extended care programs as needed. OE Group Counselors will also complete weekly written evaluations on all campers.

  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications
