The Campers In Leadership Training (CILT) Program provides incoming 9th & 10th grade campers the opportunity to gain leadership training and experience at Roughing It. Many graduate to become Junior Counselors and Staff members when they are older. CILT Campers have the opportunity to assist with younger groups each week as well as learn to plan and lead camp activities.

The CILT campers have their own, co-ed group and a CILT counselor so they have the fun of participating in all of the teen camper activities as well as developing their leadership skills. The CILT campers will take part in all camp activities as the similar-aged Junior High Boys/Girls groups. This includes older camper activities such as Kayaking and Super Choice!

Each week CILTs get a chance to assist with a group of campers between 4 to 10 years of age. The CILT group will assist with the Kindergarten (K) group where we assign buddies between the CILTs and the younger campers. This gives each CILT the opportunity to practice some leadership techniques while assisting their kindergarten buddy during games, activities, and while exploring camp! The CILT group will also accompany the kindergarteners to the swimming pool and help assist in the swimming lesson for the K Group. Afterwards the CILT group will get their own swimming time as well.

How To Apply:
Campers who want to be CILTs need to register for their camp sessions, and then will receive CILT application to complete once they are registered.
