Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Little Raccoons and to the Roughing It Community. We have designed the Little Raccoons program to meet the needs of some of our very young campers who may not be quite ready for the full 4 or 8-week session of Roughing It Day Camp. Every aspect of the Little Raccoons program has been specifically designed to prepare younger campers for participation in our flagship Roughing It Day Camp program. While most younger campers thrive as members of our Kindergarten or 1st Grade groups at our 4 & 8 week day camp, we do know that a few parents have held their younger campers out of day camp because they felt that their child was not quite ready for all the traditional camp activities offered in our 4 & 8 week sessions of day camp. So we have tailor made the Little Raccoons to provide the very best possible introduction and preparation of these very young and more hesitant campers. Little Raccoons offers these very young campers a more leisurely paced program of activities that spend much more time on the introductory aspects of the activities. Little Raccoons will not participate in horseback riding, canoeing, adventure or the all-camp overnight. We are sure that after a 2-week session of Little Raccoons that each camper will be fully ready for the exciting and growing experience of a full 4 or 8-week session of Roughing It Day Camp.
