The very best way to learn about Roughing It is to view one of our camp shows, hosted at the home of one of our camper families or at our camp office. Directors Ann & Hobie will be there to take you through a typical day at camp, answering any questions you may have. Roughing It offers five types of Camp Shows, tailored to the interests of all potential camp parents:

  • Day Camp Shows - For parents interested in Roughing It's premier program, four and eight week session Day Camp at the Lafayette Reservoir.
  • Little Raccoons Camp Shows - For parents interested in Roughing It's Little Raccoons program, a two week program for younger campers who may not be ready for the full camp experience.
  • Horse Camp Shows - For parents interested in one of Roughing It's three horse camp programs: Horse Day Camp (English Saddle), Ranch Camp (Western Saddle), or Afternoon Horse Day Camp (Western Saddle).
  • "Ready for Camp?" Workshop - A presentation and Camp Show for parents who are unsure where to begin in selecting a camp for their child.
  • New Camper Orientation - A Camp Show for new parents not able to attend a Camp Show earlier in the year. This is a parent's last chance to learn all about the Roughing It experience before the camp season starts!
