General Information On Part-Time
Employment
As an organization, Roughing It dedicates its time to
working with children and providing them with fun and educational
summer camp programs. Our part-time staff are instrumental in
supporting and assisting our full-time staff as they organize and
develop our variety of camp programs, from Horse Camps, to Day Camp,
to Camp Plus. We look forward to welcoming new staff members
who share our same dedication and passion for summer camps.
Benefits of a Part-Time Position with
Roughing It
In addition to the fun and rewarding work environment,
Roughing It offers its part-time employees the benefits of a great
location and a flexible schedule.
- Camper Registration Fee: If you are employed by
Roughing It and you have a child that you would like to have
attend one of our Roughing It Camp programs, the registration
fee for your child will be reduced or waived.
- Location: Our main winter office is located right in the center of the
city of Lafayette, in the East Bay, making it convenient and
easy to get to.
- Flexible Hours: Our part-time employees generally work about 20 hours a
week, although many of these positions become full-time during
our busy summer session. We can, however, tailor specific
schedules to individual applicants needs and commitments, such
as school or family.
Summer Employment - The BEST Way to Qualify for Year-Round Positions
The
very best way to qualify for one of our year-round positions is to
complete a summer on seasonal staff with excellent staff performance
evaluations. Applicants who have previously worked on summer
seasonal staff are given higher preference and consideration when
applying for our year-round positions.
