All promotions and bonuses are entirely at the discretion of the Roughing It Camp Directors.
Our salary decisions and offers are based on a variety of factors and qualifications, the most important of which is successful previous employment with Roughing It Day Camp. The layouts below are based on this factor. Please see the progression which applies to you:

Beginning at Roughing It without 1 previous summer on Roughing It Staff

Pre Summer

Entry: $13.85/hour

1 Month Possible Promotion: $14.13/hour

3 Month Possible Promotion: $14.42/hour

Summer

Salary: $800/wk (scheduled 50 hours, paid 55)

Bonuses:
Complete summer bonus $200
Performance bonus $300 + $50 for each month employed prior to summer season

Post-Summer

Oct. 1 Possible Promotion to Program Supervisor Salary: $33,600/year (equivalent $15/hour). Includes possible Camp and Profit bonuses.

Prior to Oct. 1: $15/hour

Oct. 1:
Program Supervisor Salary officially begins: $33,600/year. Includes possible Camp and Profit Bonuses

While we individually evaluate each applicant, we do not normally deviate from the salary progressions listed above.

We recognize that some applicants have additional, desirable qualifications which set then apart from other applicants. Although it is rare, we are willing to take certain qualifications into account for extra consideration.

Beneficial Qualifications:

The following qualifications are highly desirable at Roughing It Day Camp. When taking these into account, we like to see a combination of several of the following:

American Camp Association certification of Standards Visitor
First Responder certifications
Advanced First Aid Qualifications (First Responder, EMT, Paramedic)
Instructor Certifications such as CHA for horseback riding, or WSI for water sports
Graduate Degree in Education or Recreation

If you possess a combination of any of the qualifications listed above, please let us know. We would like to stress that it is extremely rare for us to deviate from our established salaries, but we will take your qualifications into account.
